Community Staff Nurse West South

About the Role

We are looking for a compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our community team at Chard Community Hospital. The role covers urban and rural areas of West South Somerset, Chard, Ilminster and Langport.

Positions are day shifts (8am-4pm, 9am-5pm or 10am-6pm). You will also work twilight shifts (2pm-10pm) and one weekend per month, including unsocial hours with enhanced pay. No night shifts. Flexible working solutions, including part-time hours, are available.

As a community RN you will travel between patients using your own vehicle; a generous mileage allowance (including mileage and depreciation) is provided.

Provide care to patients in their homes, managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with other disciplines. Skills include IV medication administration, palliative and end-of-life care, complex wound management, catheter and continence care, diabetes management, PICC line care, medication administration, and drain tube management. Make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans with support from colleagues and Team Leaders.

Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses.

Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid licence. Experience in community nursing preferred but newly qualified nurses may apply; preceptorship will be offered. Must have a reliable vehicle and be able to drive safely to patients’ homes.
