Solicitor - Probate - Somerset - 3+ Years PQE
Location: Somerset
Type of Role: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £55,000 to £80,000 (depending on experience)
A respected law firm in Somerset is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Probate Solicitor to join its Private Client department. This is an excellent opportunity for a solicitor with strong technical knowledge and client care skills to manage a varied caseload and contribute to a supportive and dynamic team.
The RoleYou'll be responsible for managing a range of probate and estate administration matters, including:
- Handling probate and estate administration cases from start to finish
- Advising clients on wills, trusts, lasting powers of attorney, inheritance tax, and intestacy
- Drafting and reviewing legal documents including wills and trust deeds
- Liaising with executors, beneficiaries, HMRC, and other stakeholders
- Preparing applications for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration
- Ensuring compliance with legislation and SRA regulations
- Maintaining high standards of client care and building long-term relationships
- Supporting business development and networking initiatives
- 3+ years PQE in probate and estate administration (newly qualified candidates with relevant experience may be considered)
- Strong technical and drafting skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Confidence in managing matters independently
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Motivation, organisation, and a proactive mindset
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal IT systems
- STEP qualification (or working towards) is desirable
