Somerset (Commutable from Yeovil, Wincanton, Bruton, Shepton Mallet, Bath & Surrounding areas)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Lead Engineer to drive engineering performance across a fast-paced food manufacturing site. You will lead the engineering team, ensure high equipment reliability, and support operational excellence through strong technical leadership and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

* Lead and develop Engineering Team Leaders and Site Services Engineers.

* Manage daily engineering priorities to maintain site-wide service levels.

* Deliver best-in-class planned and reactive maintenance.

* Drive root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

* Monitor KPIs including uptime, PPM completion, and cost control.

* Ensure effective use of CMMS and spare parts systems.

* Maintain compliance with health & safety, food safety, and technical standards.

* Support production teams, shutdowns, and new product trials.

* Manage contractors and deputise for the Engineering Manager when required.
What we looking for:

* Proven engineering leadership experience within food manufacturing or FMCG.

* Strong people management and communication skills.

* Qualified to NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent); HNC/HND desirable.

* Multi-skilled with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.

* Confident decision-maker with strong problem-solving ability.
