Job Summary

As supervised and delegated by a registered nurse, provides direct patient care in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Director of Physician Practices

Education:

License:
Current LPN/PN to practice in the Commonwealth of Kentucky or a current multistate license and be in good standing with the Board of health Professions Graduate of an approved practical nursing program

Certifications:

BCLS within 30 days of hire/transfer

Minimum

Work Experience:

* Knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT codes, insurance benefits and healthcare backgrounds

Required Essential Functions

* Under the direction of an RN, contributes to the assessment of patients by collecting data for analysis by an RN.

* Performs plan of care interventions, including specimen collection and wound care.

* May administer medication.

* Documents patient care given.

* Assists RN with development of plan of care.

* Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.

* Monitors, documents, and communicates patient's status and reactions to interventions with RN, physician, patient, and families.

* Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient. S

* Schedules appointments and procedures as ordered by the provider.

* Obtains insurance re-authorizations as requested for testing and scheduled procedures.

Non-Essential Functions

* Attends clinic meetings.

* Maintains a clean and safe working environment.

* Reports all incidents, hazards, drug interactions, and initiate appropriate action.

* Completes safety instructional programs.

* Assists other team members when time permits.
