Overview
Neuro Circulator — Rotating Call and Rotating Night/Weekend Call
Position Summary:
Provides direct patient care in the surgical setting using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department.
- Performs plan of care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care activities.
- Documents patient care provided.
- Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to the care team, physician, patient, and family.
- Prepares, positions, and transports patients for procedures.
- Prepares surgical and endoscopy suites with solutions, scopes, equipment, and supplies. Validates proper reprocessing of scopes for every procedure.
- Assesses and cares for patients throughout the perioperative process, including pre-procedure and post-procedure care.
- Operates specialized equipment and maintains a safe environment.
- Accounts for use of supplies during surgical/endoscopy procedures.
- Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial/spiritual support needs.
- Provides patient and family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances throughout the perioperative process.
- Assists patients with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
- Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
- Participates in performance improvement and continuing education.
- Provides quality patient care and works flexible shifts or units as needed.
- Maintains regular and reliable attendance.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Education
:
Associate's degree in nursing required; bachelor's degree in nursing preferred.
License/Certifications
:
Current RN license in state of practice; BCLS required; ACLS and PALS preferred.

Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, Older Adult. - Protected Health Information Accessed:
Demographic, Clinical, Insurance, Financial, Complete Medical Record. - Exposure:
Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is present for all employees. - Physical Requirements:
Frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. Regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
