Position Summary
The Clinical Educator (RN) for the Emergency Department serves as the educational leader for nursing staff caring for the emergency department patient population. Coordinates and/or conducts both didactic and clinical orientation and continuing education of nursing staff, nurse aides and techs, within assigned area(s). Supports, and mentors preceptors to effectively orient new emergency department staff members. The Clinical Educator collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to meet educational needs of staff in order to promote quality patient outcomes.
The Clinical Educator works in tandem with the ED manger to bring evidenced based practice to the nursing staff and update policies and procedures. Presents and/or coordinates unit based in services which follow educational principles and process. The Clinical Educator coordinates the on-boarding of nursing staff with the manager, identifies learning gaps during the orientation process and provides education to enhance professional growth.
Responsible for annual competencies. Demonstrates advanced clinical and communication skills. Candidate must be willing to flex start time according to unit needs.
- NJ Licensed RN, BSN
- MSN (preferred) from an accredited institution, currently enrolled, or willing to enroll within first year of hire and complete within 4 years
- 3 years of Emergency Department Nursing Experience
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, IV, and Dysrhythmia certifications
- Intermediate computer skills, excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
- Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods with the ability to lift, push and pull
- Clinical Education experience
- CEN
- Pediatrics Experience
Salary Range - $41.37 - $54.07 hourly (Based on experience)
