Job Overview
The selected applicant will be required to carry out a program developed by professionals using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). ABA is the process of systematically applying evidence-based interventions to improve socially significant behaviors to a meaningful degree, and to demonstrate that the interventions employed are responsible for the improvement in the behavior. Training will be provided by the School Psychologist, Lead Teacher, with support from a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
Collaboration is ongoing. Daily support is provided by school personnel, administrative, support, and instructional staff. Behavior technicians are trained to follow behavior plans for challenging behaviors and to provide direct instruction for skills across areas such as communication, adaptive, and vocational. This position is not a medical‑related position; it is a support position for student behavior.
- Preschool and special education experience preferred
- Ability to commit to full day work (7:40-2:40 Monday-Thursday) or (Every Other Friday 7:40-11:55)
- Strong at collaborating and accepting feedback
- Ability to engage proactively with student with problem behaviors
- Ability to implement behavior plans for challenging behaviors (e.g. non‑compliance, attention‑seeking, avoidance) and to provide direct instruction on a wide array of skills.
- Organized and able to manage and organize content and data collection, under guidance
- Understands the importance or and demonstrates an ability to maintain confidentiality
- Ability to pass state and federal background checks
- Has reliable transportation to work
- Ability to ride school bus with the student to and from school
- Ability to maintain self‑composure with a rational and objective demeanor when faced with difficult situations; ability to act objectively, rather than impulsively or emotionally

:- College Degree in Education, preferred.
- Shall show evidence of demonstrated teaching, educational skills and interest in students and their education.
- Shall have the ability to communicate and deal with students, teachers and the public in a congenial and positive manner.
- Shall have demonstrated aptitude and competence for assigned responsibilities.
- Shall exhibit acceptable standards of emotional stability, moral character, sound health and be physically able to perform necessary job responsibilities.
