Accounts Payable Supervisor - Standalone Start-to-Finish Role

This is a rare opportunity to step into a business at a pivotal moment and truly make a role your own. This growing organisation is investing in strengthening its finance function and is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to take full ownership of the purchase-to-pay process. If you love autonomy, thrive on building structure, and want a role where your impact is visible from day one - this one is special.

You'll be the go-to person for Accounts Payable, managing the process end-to-end from procurement through to invoice payment. This is not a role where you follow an existing playbook - you'll be creating it. You'll design processes, implement controls, and shape how this function operates long-term. Initially joining on a temporary basis due to an urgent backlog, the business has a clear long-term need for this position and intends to make it permanent.

This role is ideal for someone immediately available or on a short notice period.

Key Responsibilities:

Taking full ownership of the end-to-end Accounts Payable process, from purchase order creation through to payment
Processing invoices and matching to purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance
Embedding robust purchase-to-pay controls and safe working practices
Identifying process gaps and implementing improved procedures and structure
Managing invoice queries and supplier communications
Supporting the business through a period of restructuring by creating stability within Accounts Payable
Building a scalable function with the potential to grow into a wider team
Clearing an existing backlog while creating long-term sustainable processes

Candidate Attributes and

Skills:

Proven experience in a start-to-finish Accounts Payable role
Confident working autonomously and holding your own in a standalone position
Strong understanding of why purchase-to-pay processes matter, not just how to complete them
Comfortable entering a fast-paced environment and hitting the ground running
