Building Control Surveyor – Solihull, UK – £28.90 per hour – Ongoing Contract.

An opportunity has arisen for a Building Control Surveyor to join our team in Solihull. This full-time locum role offers a competitive hourly wage and promises an ongoing contract for the right candidate.

• Assess applications to ensure compliance with Building Regulations and associated legislation.
• Conduct site visits and document and record information promptly.
• Provide pre-application and general advice on building matters to clients.
• Execute enforcement duties including gathering evidence, preparing reports, drafting formal notices, and preparing prosecution cases for the Magistrates’ Court.
• Utilise Information Technology effectively to administer Building Regulation applications and related matters efficiently.
• Communicate adeptly with internal and external clients on Building Regulations and related compliance issues.
• Conduct enforcement actions for non-compliance with Building Regulations, advising on appropriate actions.
• Administer dangerous or dilapidated structures effectively, taking necessary actions to eliminate danger.
• Manage client relationships proactively to market the service informally at all levels.

• Chartered status either through the experience route or via the educational pathway with full Chartered status from a relevant professional body.
• Registered as either a Class 2A or Class 2B-F Building Inspector with the BSR.
• A solid understanding of Building Regulations and allied legislation with extensive experience in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
• Ability to handle a range of Building Control duties, from plan checking to site inspections.
