Position Summary
The Medical Staff Provider Practice Evaluation/Peer Review Nurse plays a crucial role in facilitating the Medical Staff’s Peer Review, Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluation (OPPE), and Focused Professional Practice Evaluation (FPPE) functions. This position ensures compliance with The Joint Commission Standards and CMS Conditions of Participation while managing the confidentiality of the Peer Review process and supporting the Medical Staff Credentialing process.
The incumbent is also responsible for preparing physician quality documentation and supporting performance improvement projects. Identifies and prepares cases for Peer Review, organizing and maintaining a system to accomplish the timely completion of cases by the Medical Staff. Applies clinical knowledge to assure that the Professional Practice Evaluation and Peer Review processes are used effectively to evaluate issues related to professional credentialing, conduct and practice.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- 4 years of Acute Care Nursing experience
- State of Alaska RN License
