Coaches, Assistant Coaches and Field Monitors

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northwest San Diego offers various sports programs for middle school students after school. These programs rely on volunteers to serve as coaches, assistant coaches, and field monitors.

Time Commitment: Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays during the season, at designated times.

Onboarding Process: Complete volunteer application, reference checks, background check, fingerprinting, sign waivers, complete online training modules, and attend in-person orientation. Total time: approximately 2-3 hours.

Required Skills/

Experience:

Ability to teach sports fundamentals and communicate positively.

Desired Skills/

Experience:

Spanish language skills.

Physical Requirements: Ability to walk short distances and stand for extended periods.

Note:

No accommodations for physical limitations; the facility is not wheelchair accessible.

Attire: Clothing without inappropriate words, jeans or shorts acceptable, tight or revealing clothing not allowed, closed-toed shoes required.

The mission is to inspire and develop young people to reach their full potential as confident, responsible, and caring members of society.

Population Served:
Low-income communities.

Requirements:
Age 14+ (with adult), skills in Spanish and sports activities.
