Responsibilities
- Know all emergency procedures (fire, severe weather, bomb threats, guest accidents/illness, etc.).
- Plan, direct and supervise the daily activities of the Engineering Department.
- Maintain a high standard of job performance for all hourly department associates.
- Maintain high department productivity.
- Perform accurate and efficient repairs on hotel equipment and systems of a technically advanced nature.
- Maintain specific and measurable performance notes on all hourly department associates.
- Participate in effective performance appraisals for all hourly associates.
- Write and post a weekly work schedule for all hourly associates.
- Have the knowledge and skills to be able to efficiently and accurately repair HVAC, plumbing, refrigeration, machinery, boiler, etc. with a minimum need to call outside contractors.
- Assume control of the Engineering Department in the absence of the Chief Engineer.
- Provide effective training and assistance to all hourly department employees.
- Work with outside contractors.
