Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Peri-Op Operating Room position requiring a NM or compact RN license with day shifts and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Operating Room (OR) of a hospital setting

• Day shift schedule, 8-hour shifts from, five days per week

• On-call and weekend shifts are required as needed

• Floating between departments and local locations within 20 miles is required

• Care provided to perioperative patient populations

• Epic EMR is used; onsite training is available

• Responsible for providing direct perioperative care, including assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs

• Collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team to coordinate care

• Supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel may be required

• Epic EMR training will be provided onsite if needed

• Completion of patient population, age-specific, procedure, and protocol competency testing per unit standards

• Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia Testing is not required for OR RNs

• Scrub attire must comply with facility policies

Requirements

• Active NM or compact RN license in hand

• BLS and ACLS certifications from American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross

• Minimum of two years of recent experience in a small PACU and Pre-Op required

• At least one previous 13-week travel assignment required

• ADN or ASN degree required

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment

• No candidates within a 50-mile radius will be considered

• Returning former staff must be separated for at least one year to be eligible
