Job Description
American Traveler is seeking a Home Health Occupational Therapist with BLS certification and a valid driver's license for full-time day shifts serving patients in a home care setting.
Responsibilities
• Work in a home health setting providing occupational therapy services
• Day shift position, Monday through Friday, 8-hour days (8a-5p)
• Travel within assigned regions and may float between departments or locations within 20 miles
• Services adult and geriatric patient populations in their homes
• Evaluate, develop, and implement individualized occupational therapy plans
• Instruct patients, caregivers, and team members on treatment procedures and safe activities in the home
• Order, adapt, and instruct in use of adaptive equipment for patient safety and independence
• Document care delivery and complete documentation requirements in the home daily
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team to achieve discharge goals
• Supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Home Health Aides on therapy plans
• Attendance at team conferences, educational programs, and in-services required
• Must maintain productivity standards as defined by department
• No local candidates permitted; must live farther than 50 miles from facility
• Returning employees must wait one year before being eligible for traveler positions
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree and all educational requirements needed for Occupational Therapist licensure in NM
• Current and valid Occupational Therapist license (license required if applicable)
• Current BLS certification
• Valid driver’s license and current auto insurance required
• Minimum one year of supervised clinical experience in acute or rehab setting preferred
• Prior home health experience preferred
