Position Description

Kinder Morgan CO2 Company is currently seeking an I&E Technician for the SACROC Field Operations in Snyder, TX. The successful candidate will serve a vital role in maintaining the safe and efficient operation of all aspects of the field with emphasis on Instrument and Electrical systems. The SACROC Field employs a multitude of facilities which include over 50,000 hp of electrical motors and 1,000’s of end devices.

The SACROC Field also includes over 10 Vapor Recovery Units located at the Water Gathering and Water Stations.

• Provide support to operations to ensure plant downtime is minimized.
• Recognize and promote ideas that provide safer, more efficient and cost effective operation, making sure that operating costs are consistent with budgetary constraints.
• Support and work with outside groups such as process engineering, project engineering, and the Operations Excellence team on safety, optimization, and expansion initiatives.

• Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
• May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Plant vessels and piping systems contain H2S and hydrocarbon gases which are flammable and may be explosive under certain circumstances.
• Requires working on holidays when a holiday falls on a scheduled on-call weekend.
• Must be available 24 hrs a day Mon-Fri and must be available for scheduled on call weekends.
• Must work on high voltage electrical systems 480V, 4160V, 6600V 12470V etc.

• Knowledge of high voltage electrical systems 480V, 4160V, 12470V
• Knowledge of conduit installation techniques and wiring installations
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
• Strong communication skills
• Strong computer skills
• Strong analytical skills

Must maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record acceptable to KM’s insurer. Must be able to work with a team, take direction from manager, keep required work schedules, focus on attention to detail, and follow work rules.

High School Diploma
Technical or Trade School

Associates Degree in Electronic Technician or Similar Technology Degree experience may be substituted for degree.
