Sr. Data Engineer Chicago

We are building a best-in-class data platform to support our growth and are seeking a Senior Data Engineer to join us as we scale our modern data stack.

We focus on building data assets that are impactful to the business. We select and configure tools to support reliable data operations and data availability for business users. We collaborate across the organization to connect systems, share knowledge, and build a reliable, secure, well-managed data platform that includes data stores, pipelines, databases, data models, metrics, and visualizations.

Your role will be to design, build and manage the data platform, pipelines and models that support strategic analysis, BI, ML and AI. You will help make the platform more reliable, secure and well-managed by proactively identifying and implementing improvements.

• A solid track record with at least 8 years in data engineering.
• Expertise in dbt and Airflow, with deep experience in SQL, Python, pipeline development, orchestration and deployment.
• Data Ops skillsets to implement required cloud services and permissions in AWS and Azure using IaC tools.
• Experience in Snowflake administration, with a solid understanding of performance optimization and RBAC.
• Deep understanding of Kimball and OBT-style data modeling, with the drive to understand the business and create optimal models for BI and ML use cases.
• Proven experience and self-motivation to identify needs, move projects forward and deliver results.
• Exceptional communication skills and strong teamwork.
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities with the ability to analyze business and systems impact.

We’re on a mission to create more joy in people’s lives, including our employees. We offer a competitive compensation and benefits plan. Base Pay range for this position: $105,000 - $150,000 annually;
Target Annual Bonus: 15% of base salary. The final discretionary compensation will depend on factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and market location.
