Overview

This position is eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $15,000 for candidates new to Evergreen Health Monroe. Bonus is pro-rated by FTE, applicable education, and relevant experience. Evergreen Health Monroe reserves the right to determine the amount and this statement is not a guarantee of payment.

Wage Range: $43.34 - $80.20 per hour. The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation, such as shift differentials and premiums, may be available for this role. Job offers are determined based on a candidate’s years of relevant experience, applicable education, and internal equity.

Job Summary and Essential Functions

Summary:

Provides nursing care across the life span from neonatal through geriatric patients, floats to designated departments to support staffing needs and provides rest and meal break relief to Registered Nurses and RN Shift Coordinators. Adheres to hospital policies, participates in patient education, and supports the care team.

  • Provides direct patient care and functions as a patient advocate. Assesses needs of an assigned group of patients and coordinates patient and family education.
  • Continuously plans, implements, and evaluates patient care, incorporating patient and family into the process.
  • Utilizes a collaborative approach across departments and units.
  • Works with physician/providers and interdisciplinary team to develop and implement patient plans of care.
  • Promotes teamwork and ensures patient care activities are completed.
  • Maintains clear, constructive communication and seeks feedback to ensure mutual understanding.
  • Communicates relevant information to the supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Identifies adverse changes in patient status and provides mentoring and support as needed; reports outcomes per standards.
  • Troubleshoots processes to prevent problems and maintains continuous quality improvement.
  • Maintains skills competency annually through testing or return demonstration.
  • Nursing Scope of Practice:
    Follows the Standards of Nursing Practice and Standards of Professional Performance as defined by the American Nurses Association. Includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, evaluation, quality of practice, and leadership.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
  • Education, Training, Certification/Licensure

    Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current Washington State Registered Nurse (RN) license. Requires current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification by start date. Requires Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and NIHSS Stroke Certification within 90 days of hire, and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and Trauma Nursing Core Course…
