The DeKalb County School District is seeking a motivated Community Coach who has a passion for working with high school students. The ideal candidate should have excellent instructional delivery skills and the ability to communicate with various stakeholders.

• Work under the supervision of the Principal and the Head Coach in the sport you express an interest in.
• Assist the Head Coach in game techniques and strategies to prepare for competition, and determine the need for individual or team improvement.
• Accept directions from the Head Coach at all times.
• A Lay Coach will be required to assist with maintaining inventory of athletic equipment, maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques, and maintain locker room and playing facilities.
• Community Coaches are temporary positions and must be renewed annually.

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Experience and knowledge coaching sports preferred.

• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate required.
• Valid certificate in first aid required.
