Area High School_Community Coach; Martin Luther King, Jr. HS

Overview

Horizon Area  Coach (M. K. King, Jr. HS)  at DeKalb County School District. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of the Principal and the Head Coach in the sport that you express an interest. Community Coaches are temporary positions and must be renewed annually.

• Assist the Head Coach with game techniques and strategies to prepare for competition
• Determine the need for individual or team improvement
• Accept directions from the Head Coach at all times
• Maintain inventory of athletic equipment
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of first aid techniques
• Maintain locker room and playing facilities
• Support the Head Coach in daily operations and administrative tasks as needed

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
• Experience and knowledge coaching sports preferred

• Georgia High School Association Lay Coaching Certificate required
• Valid certificate in first aid required
