Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN for a weekend-only, day shift contract requiring scrub and aseptic technique skills across multiple surgical specialties including Robotics, Urology, Ortho, and Vascular.

Job Details

• Hospital Operating Room setting serving a patient population ranging from pediatrics to geriatrics,

• All surgical specialties except Open Heart, including Urology, Ortho, Vascular, General, Endo/Laparoscopic, and Robotics,

• 10-room OR with an average caseload of 20-25 cases per day,

• Weekend-only schedule:
Saturday and Sunday, two 12-hour day shifts (7:00 AM - 7:00 PM),

• On-call required: one weekday on-call shift per week (3-11 PM or 11 PM-7 AM) and one 24-hour on-call shift every fifth weekend, based on department needs,

• Floating within the facility and scope of practice as needed,

• Every 4th-5th weekend rotation based on department need,

• Epic used for charting;
Pyxis for medication dispensing,

• Experience with standard OR equipment and the Xi Da Vinci robotic system,

Job Requirements

• Active GA RN license or Compact RN license required,

• Current BLS certification required,

• Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required,

• Proficiency in scrub and aseptic technique required,

• Experience across multiple surgical specialties:
Urology, Ortho, Vascular, General, Endo/Laparoscopic, and Robotics,

• Experience with Xi Da Vinci robotic system required,

• Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) preferred; charge nurse references are not accepted,

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply,

• Local candidates are accepted,

• Scrubs are provided by the facility,

• RTO maximum is 7 days for the contract period; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment,

• Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two and may request one holiday off for approval,

• Major holidays include:
Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day,

• No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm,

• Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for a full year before returning as a traveler,

• No scheduling change requests will be considered once the assignment begins,
