Overview
Piedmont Eastside Medical is a 310-bed multi-campus facility serving Gwinnett and surrounding counties. Piedmont Eastside Medical Centers Intensive Care Unit provides high quality care to critically ill adult patients with varying critical conditions. This 24-bed mixed unit utilizes evidence-based best practices in caring for patients and their families. Although Piedmont Eastside is not a trauma or open-heart capable facility, we are able to care for critical patients of nearly all other varieties.
Our patient populations include neurosurgical patients requiring EVD and lumbar drain management; cardiac patients requiring IABP or Impella support, STEMI and post cardiac arrest patients, patients requiring targeted temperature management, as well as patients with multi-organ dysfunction or failure requiring CRRT, as well as various other conditions requiring intensive care and critical intervention.
Coordinates the delivery of quality nursing care for patients from birth through the lifecycle, as well as operational issues during his/her shift. Provides clinical care as needed when census demands. Communicates patient care, departmental issues, and staff concerns to the appropriate leader(s). Serves as resource for guidance and assistance to the staff.
QualificationsMINIMUM
EDUCATION REQUIRED:
Graduate of a nursing program
Minimum Experience Required
One (1) year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required.
Minimum Licensure/Certification Required By Law
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC Multistate License.
BLS certification required.
Additional Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of nursing experience in a hospital setting preferred.
Bachelors degree preferred.
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable (see addendum).
Demonstrated clinical competency.
