This 18‑bed cardiac unit specializes in the care of both cardiac and vascular patients. The typical patient population includes patients with chest pain, cardiac dysrhythmias, CHF exacerbation, hypertensive emergency, pulmonary embolism or DVT, and patients who have had AAA repair and carotid endarterectomy. The unit is intermediate/step‑down; nurse‑to‑patient ratio is typically 1:4. Nursing staff work closely with cardiology and vascular teams to ensure exceptional care.

The staff nurse provides nursing care to patients from birth through the lifecycle utilizing nursing processes to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The nurse functions within the policies and procedures of the organization and demonstrates professional growth and accountability. Responsibilities include maintaining standards of practice and coordinating patient care activities of all assigned staff to provide quality nursing care.
QualificationsMinimum Education Required
Graduate of a nursing program.
Minimum Experience RequiredNew graduates of a nursing program eligible.
Licensure/CertificationCurrent license in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC/eNLC multistate license. BLS certification required.
Additional Qualifications- For PRN positions:
One year of nursing experience in a hospital setting required. - Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
- Nursing experience in hospital setting preferred.
