Piedmont Endoscopy Technician, Days

Endoscopy Technician – Full Time (Days)

• Mon – Fri 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
• On‑call:
  Weekend call approximately every other weekend and 2–3 nights per week.

• Assist the physician in the performance of endoscopic procedures.
• Maintain supplies and equipment in the Endoscopy Department in proper working order.
• Clean and disinfect equipment according to unit and hospital policy.
• Provide appropriate patient care to the Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy patient under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
• Perform clerical duties as necessary to assure optimal function of Ambulatory Care and Endoscopy.
• Assemble and maintain patient chart material, maintain records and files, keep workstation orderly and clean.
• Complete charges for patients.
• May record vital signs and perform other general patient care functions.

• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of handling hazardous substances.
• Skill and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in‑writing.
• Tact, discretion, diplomacy, and ability to work effectively with others.
• Ability to work as a member of a team.

• High School Diploma or GED (required).
• Graduate of GI/OR Technology program (preferred).
• Graduate of CNA/MA program (preferred).

• No experience required.
• Previous experience as Unit Secretary or as CNA/MA (preferred).
• Previous experience in Endoscopy (preferred).

• BCLS – Basic Life Support / Current AHA BLS Certification upon hire required.
