- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per month
- Active RN license (Tennessee RN or compact state RN license) — required for Tennessee nursing jobs
- Minimum 1 year of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (labor & delivery nurse, perinatal/OB nurse)
- Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Fetal Monitoring (electronic fetal monitoring) - Strong commitment to high‑quality, patient‑centered maternity care and promoting vaginal birth when appropriate
- Advanced skills such as Spinning Babies and STABLE are helpful but not required
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and patient advocacy skills
- Experience with Meditech and CPN documentation preferred
- Previous travel nurse experience is a plus
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to laboring patients in a 9‑bed L&D unit with 3 swing rooms, 2 ORs, and a 3‑bed OBED
- Circulate in the OR and assist with cesarean deliveries and procedures such as IUPC, FSE placement, MgSO4 administration, postpartum hemorrhage management (JADA system), and nitrous oxide use
- Perform fetal monitoring and intervene per protocol to optimize maternal/fetal outcomes
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members including midwives, CRNAs, and in‑house OBGYNs (24/7)
- Document patient care using CPN and Meditech systems and maintain high‑quality charting
- Float to mother/baby or other departments as needed to support patient flow and couplet care
- Promote breastfeeding and couplet care; support use of donor milk when indicated
- Contribute to maintaining patient experience scores above 75%
- Adhere to hospital dress code: hot pink and black (preferably hot pink tops)
- Work with an innovative Women’s Services team in a recognized hospital focused on safe, family‑centered births
- Gain experience in a busy L&D unit with robust multidisciplinary support and a Level 2 NICU
