Must have a valid TN RN License or Compact RN License in good standing
Minimum 1 year of Med/Surg experience
Certifications
Required:
BLS (required), ACLS (optional)
Patient Break Down: all medical-surgical patients, orthopedic and spine patients on the designated floor, trauma patients, psych medical hold patients, etc.
Must Have:
Strong assessment skills
Excellent prioritization and time management abilities
Reliable, punctual, organized, and strong communication skills
Advanced Skills Needed:
Critical thinking
Time management
Ability to care for diverse post-surgical and trauma patients
Procedures Performed on Unit:
General med-surg care
Post-catheterizations
Lap appy/chole
Thoracentesis/paracentesis
Spine and joint procedures
Hemodialysis/peritoneal dialysis
CBI
Unit Specifics:
Number of Beds: 54 total; 11 dedicated ortho/spine
Patient Ratios: 1:5–6
Unit Staffing:
Supported by PCTs and RN/LPN teams
Equipment:
Alaris pumps, remote telemetry, wound vacs, specialty beds, chest tubes, NG/feeding tubes

Meditech
