We are seeking a Production Manager for our Smyrna, TN Plant.
SummaryUtilizes strong leadership and communication skills daily to effectively manage and motivate production teams, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Analytical skills are essential for interpreting production data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing process improvements that enhance productivity and quality. Technical knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality standards enables the manager to oversee operations and troubleshoot issues proactively. Proficiency with production planning to support efficient scheduling, resource allocation, and inventory management.
Proactively utilize skills in project management and continuous improvement methodologies to help drive initiatives that reduce costs, improve safety, and increase overall operational excellence.
- Assures compliance to all required industry standards and government requirements as stated in the Ideal-Tridon Quality Manual, Quality Management System, process documentation and all Company Human Resources, Health, Safety, and Environmental guidelines to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Has responsibility and authority to ensure that supervisors and team members are adequately trained to produce and ship product in accordance with customers’ requirements.
- Has the responsibility and authority to shutdown machine operation when quality, safety, or environmental issue arise.
- Maintains and protects all company, supplier, and customer proprietary and confidential information.
- Plan, organize, and control production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines.
- Manage and supervise production staff, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and development.
- Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of raw materials and components.
- Implement and monitor quality control procedures to maintain product standards and reduce defects.
- Analyze production data and metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations within the production area.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Prepare and manage production budgets, controlling costs while maximizing efficiency.
- Lead continuous improvement projects using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma.
- Communicate production status, challenges, countermeasures, and results to senior management.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, Business Administration, or related field required. M.B.A. preferred.
- Certification through the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM) is preferred.
- At least 5 years of related experience in manufacturing and supervision of hourly personnel required.
- Excellent managerial and supervisory skills.
- Extensive knowledge of operations and production management.
- Ability to interpret financial data as needed to set production goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and/or sitting and reaching with hands and arms.
