Summary

Courtyard Nashville Smyrna is seeking a diligent and hardworking Houseman to join our housekeeping team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order in common areas, assisting housekeeping staff, and ensuring a welcoming environment for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Common Area Maintenance:

  • Clean and maintain the lobby, hallways, restrooms, stairways, and other public areas.

  • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.

  • Ensure floors are clean and free of debris by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping.

  • Guest Room Support:

  • Assist housekeeping staff with cleaning and preparing guest rooms.

  • Deliver clean linens and towels to housekeeping staff and retrieve used ones for laundering.

  • Stock and replenish housekeeping carts and storage areas.

  • Event Setup and Breakdown:

  • Assist with setting up and breaking down event spaces as needed.

  • Ensure event spaces are clean and presentable before and after events.

  • Maintenance and Reporting:

  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the Housekeeping Manager.

  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.

  • Guest Interaction:

  • Provide excellent customer service to guests, addressing their needs and concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Assist guests with requests or direct them to the appropriate staff member.

Qualifications
  • Experience:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not required.

  • Familiarity with cleaning equipment and supplies.

  • Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to [weight] lbs).

  • Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
