The Area Supervisor is a member of Store Leadership who is responsible for a specific, assigned area of the Store and for general operations and supervision when acting as the Manager on Duty. Area Supervisors open and close the Store, supervise Associates, maintain a friendly and efficient environment, ensure proper merchandise presentation, keep a clean work area, and execute company operational processes.

• Understands safety is the number one priority and practices safe behaviors
• Maintains a high level of awareness on the sales floor to create a safe environment and reports unsafe conditions
• Responsible for building security, including entrance/exit control, EAS devices, and cash office security
• Removes clutter and ensures clear egress to emergency exits
• Ensures customer safety, accident prevention and reporting, and emergency procedures
• Tests all fire alarm systems as scheduled and responds to after‑hours alarms when requested

• Treats all customers, associates, and leaders with respect
• Demonstrates courtesy, friendliness, and professionalism; recognizes associates through company programs

• Represents and supports the company brand at all times
• Maintains a professional appearance per the dress code and ensures associates adhere to it
• Keeps all store areas clean, well‑maintained, and merchandised to standard
• Responsible for daily trash removal

• Ensures recovery, sizing, and markdowns meet company standards
• Receives merchandise truck when needed and processes all merchandise promptly
• Handles non‑merchandise inbound deliveries and maintains cleanliness and organization of stockrooms
• Assists in placing merchandise on the sales floor and secures back‑stock
• Ensures compliance with monthly presentation guidelines and manages floor moves and promotional signage
• Manages re‑wraps as required

• Complies with the Loss Prevention Awareness Program and maintains a strong customer presence
• Demonstrates integrity, safeguards confidential information, and minimizes loss due to damage
• Maintains the Public View Monitor system and conducts “Code 50” package inspections
• Executes best practices to maximize productivity

• Ensures associates execute front‑end processes to company standards
• Maintains pace, energy, and “presence” at the front end while managing lines to expedite customers
• Trains and coaches associates on cash registers, shortage control, and front‑end procedures
• Controls retail associates’ break schedule for backups and lunches
• Ensures equipment is working properly and supplies are available for the front end
• Ensures go-backs are expedited, scanned, tagged, and ticketed
• Teaches all associates the “Scan and Bag” best practice
• Ensures salability of merchandise on the front end and specialty racks

• Maintains and cleans fitting rooms
• Audits and accounts for fitting room garment tags per company policy
• Ensures go‑back compliance and that all merchandise returned to the floor is ticketed, scanned, and tagged
