Job Title: Community Services Coordinator (Part-Time)
Reports To: Director, Tillman House Resource Center
Location: Tillman House Resource Center, Smyrna, GA
Status: Part-Time (20 hours/week)
The Community Services Coordinator supports the daily operations of the Tillman House Resource Center by coordinating community service programs, assisting clients, and maintaining accurate documentation and reporting systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring services are delivered with efficiency, consistency, and compassion while supporting the mission of the church’s outreach ministry. The Coordinator works closely with the Director to ensure operational excellence, client care, and effective community engagement.
PrimaryResponsibilities
- Assist in coordinating the delivery of community assistance programs, ensuring services are provided accurately and in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support client intake and follow-up processes, including documentation, eligibility verification, scheduling, and referrals.
- Track program activity, client services, and resource distribution data for reporting and evaluation purposes.
- Maintain organized and confidential records including client files, volunteer documentation, service logs, and program reports.
- Assist the Director with preparation of internal reports, grant documentation, and partner communications as assigned.
- Develop and maintain operational tools such as forms, checklists, templates, and tracking systems to improve workflow efficiency.
- Provide frontline support to clients seeking services and connect individuals and families with appropriate community resources.
- Engage clients with professionalism, empathy, discretion, and cultural sensitivity.
- Respond to sensitive or challenging situations calmly and appropriately, escalating concerns to the Director when necessary.
- Maintain website updates and social media postings related to Tillman House service hours, upcoming programs, and community needs.
- Assist with outreach materials, event logistics, and communication support as directed by the Director.
- Bachelor’s degree or associate degree preferred (Human Services, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, or related field preferred but not required).
- Experience in administrative coordination, case management, nonprofit service delivery, or client-facing roles preferred.
- Experience working with diverse populations and vulnerable communities strongly preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills.
- Compassionate, client-centered mindset with cultural awareness and sensitivity.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic database or record management systems.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Emotional maturity and resilience when working in sensitive or high-stress environments.
- Ability to sit, stand, lift up to 25-30 lbs (for donation handling).
- Background check required
- Safe Sanctuary training required
- Must adhere to church policies and code of conduct
