General

Purpose:

The duties of this job include sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and buffing the floor surfaces of commercial buildings. You may also help clean or extract and install carpets, so carpet installation experience is a plus. In some cases, you may have to move furniture for floor access or be asked to perform other light cleaning tasks.

Shift(s) Available:

  • 2nd shift (2:00 PM to 10:00 PM) Monday through Friday

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None

Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

  • Maintains floor surfaces and stairwells, including, but not limited to the following:
  • Sweeps, mops, buffs, polishes, scrubs, strips and refinishes hard‑surface floors using heavy equipment;
  • Vacuums, spot cleans and extracts carpeted floor surfaces;
  • Performs routine operational maintenance of cleaning equipment per manufacturer specifications.
  • May clean furniture.
  • May empty trash, linen, and garbage containers.
  • May handle hazardous waste in accordance with government regulations and GLOCK, Inc. standards.
  • May wash walls and maintain baseboards and cove base molding.
  • May participate in the maintenance of floors, to include cleaning, screening, stripping, sanding and refinishing.
  • May participate in snow and ice management and removal duties, including the operation of snow removal equipment.
  • Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  • Participates in safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  • Applies all applicable OSHA and related local safety requirements to all assigned work.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  • May drive golf carts or other vehicles.
  • May assist in inventorying floor care products.
  • Fills out purchase request when supplies need to be reordered and forwards to Facility Manager to be placed on order.
  • Clean and shampoo carpets.
  • Sweep sidewalks, wash windows and clean entrance glass doors, pick up trash around outside of building.
  • When needed, empty trash from rest rooms, office area, break rooms, conference rooms, and training room.
  • Cleaning and emptying out ashtrays.
  • Follows fire safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to work various shifts.
  • Ability to operate floor‑cleaning equipment.
  • Ability to understand and follow safety procedures.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Driving a variety of company vehicles such as trucks, golf carts, SUVs.

Education and/or

Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1‑2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of janitorial methods and procedures
  • Knowledge of the materials, supplies and equipment utilized in janitorial activities

License and

Certifications:

Must have a valid Georgia Driver’s License
