We are an elite oral surgery practice committed to exceptional patient care and first-class service to our referring doctors. We seek a fun, hardworking, compassionate team player to help us grow and serve our community's oral surgery needs. Previous oral surgery experience is required.
The Surgical Assistant plays a critical role in delivering exceptional patient care, ensuring the best clinical outcomes, and meeting patient needs.
Role and Responsibilities- Assist surgeons during procedures by performing tissue retraction, managing intravenous lines, and completing documentation.
- Perform preoperative and postoperative duties to facilitate patient care.
- Verify patient identity and operative sites.
- Discuss surgical procedures with the surgeon, including consent and operative methods.
- Maintain aseptic techniques throughout procedures.
- Keep the operative field clear using retractors, sponges, suction, and irrigation.
- Ensure availability of necessary equipment and supplies.
- Inspect and operate sterilization devices.
- Monitor intraoperative patient status.
- Obtain dental radiographs and imaging.
- Complete patient clinical narratives.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- BLS certification required or within 1 month of hire.
- At least one year of oral surgery experience.
- DAANCE certification preferred.
- Licensed dental assistant preferred.
- Radiology certification preferred.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to work well independently and in a team.
- Good judgment and critical thinking skills.
- Passion for safety.
- Attention to detail and meticulous care.
- Manual dexterity.
- Excellent listening skills and ability to follow instructions, especially in emergencies.
- Basic medical terminology knowledge.
