Estimator; Commercial

We are seeking a Vertical Estimator to join the team. This role focuses on commercial and public projects and offers the opportunity to shape estimating processes within a collaborative, forward-thinking GC environment.

As the Vertical Estimator, you will lead both full‑scope estimates for smaller general contracting projects and detailed takeoffs for self‑performed carpentry packages. This is a strong opportunity for a tech‑savvy estimator who enjoys working across teams and contributing to a growing division.

• Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates for commercial and municipal construction projects
• Lead full‑project estimates for select GC opportunities, including scope development and bid strategy
• Develop detailed takeoffs for self‑performed carpentry scopes including openings, rough carpentry, and limited finish work
• Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define scope and pricing requirements
• Collaborate with project management and field teams to align budgets and execution plans
• Solicit and level subcontractor bids for applicable trades
• Identify risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunities
• Support proposal preparation and bid submissions
• Maintain organized, audit‑ready estimate files and documentation

• Experience estimating commercial construction projects within a general contractor environment
• Demonstrated ability to price full‑building scopes for small to mid‑sized projects
• Background estimating carpentry or structural building components
• Strong ability to interpret plans, specifications, and bid packages
• Proficiency with Bluebeam and modern estimating software
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative setting

• Experience with public bid and municipal projects
• Familiarity with cloud‑based estimating platforms such as Stack or similar tools
• Relationship‑driven approach with the ability to support negotiated or privately sourced work
• Exposure to evolving estimating systems or process improvement initiatives
