Compliance Engineer

Description

Attains product and engineering compliance by preventing compliance issues; developing and executing compliance programs; completing documentation.

• Prevents compliance issues by collaborating with the engineering planning and design teams; reviewing design data; identifying and resolving product and engineering design issues; identifying short-term and long-range issues; researching and identifying applicable regulatory and industry compliance standards and codes; developing compliance policies
• Prepare compliance timelines, cost estimates, and required testing
• Create and maintain a compliance database
• Coordinate, perform and document Safety Risk Assessments to prevailing safety standards and provide corrective action feedback to design engineers
• Manage certification schedules with 3rd party auditors and internal development teams
• Coordinate and conduct agency related testing for product revisions and new product development

• 4-year degree in related field or 15 years of experience in an Engineering role
• 10 years of experience in related field
• Experience with UL, NSF, CSA, CE, and ETL.
• Fundamental understanding of Engineering principles
• Self-starter and hands-on approach
• Proficient in Microsoft Office including:
  Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word
• Must be effective communicator as will provide other organizations, i.e. sales personnel with compliance related information

This position will be based in an office setting, but at times will require a hands-on approach. Occasional review of products on the production line, and/or time in a lab setting should be expected.

Travel required up to 30%.

Will be required to lift up to 30lbs occasionally.
