Accounting Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Smithfield, Rhode Island. This Contract to permanent position offers an exciting opportunity to oversee critical accounting operations and contribute to the financial health of the organization. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership skills, excellent technical expertise, and a proactive approach to improving processes.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise daily accounting activities to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.

- Lead and mentor team members, supporting their attention to detail and growth.

- Analyze existing accounting operations and implement effective improvements.

- Manage risk assessment for the balance sheet and oversee impairment testing.

- Ensure accurate valuation and management of inventory.

- Administer processes related to asset management and capitalization.

- Oversee complex journal entries, ensuring proper procedures are followed.

- Assist with monthly financial close and documentation of processes.

- Monitor compliance with financial regulations and support audits as necessary.

- Configure and manage monthly financial reporting using Cognos software.

Requirements - Proven experience with month-end close processes and procedures.

- Expertise in managing general ledger activities.

- Strong knowledge of financial statement audits and regulatory compliance.

- Proficiency in account reconciliation and ensuring accuracy in financial records.

- Solid understanding of journal entry preparation and management.

- Ability to work collaboratively with external auditors and accountants.

- Advanced technical skills in financial systems and reporting tools.
