Position Summary
Bryant University’s School of Health and Behavioral Sciences (SHBS) invites outstanding and highly motivated educators to apply for a full-time one-year term faculty position in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) Department. We seek a dynamic faculty member in biological sciences who is passionate about teaching, student mentorship, and contributing to the growth and vitality of our department. The ideal candidate will bring positive energy, a collaborative spirit, and a commitment to excellence in the classroom and meaningful engagement in departmental service.
The successful candidate will be a dedicated educator willing to teach core courses across the biology major, including lower-level science classes for both majors and non-majors in our general education program, as well as upper-level courses in their area of expertise. Teaching assignments will consist of a combination of lecture and laboratory courses. We welcome candidates from diverse backgrounds in biological and biomedical sciences and particularly value teaching versatility, enthusiasm for working closely with students in both classroom and laboratory teaching settings, and active participation in initiatives that support departmental growth.
Preference will be given to candidates who meet all primary qualifications and who also have exposure to or experience with integrating emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, into their pedagogy.
The School of Health and Behavioral Sciences offers undergraduate majors in Biology, Exercise and Movement Science, Health Sciences, and Psychology, a graduate program in Physician Assistant Studies, a 3+1 B.S. to M.S. in Healthcare Informatics, and a Doctor of Clinical Psychology (PsyD). Our faculty and facilities prepare students for science-related careers and graduate studies, emphasizing technological applications, AI and business integration, and real-world learning experiences.

This term faculty member will provide high-quality learning experiences in both lecture and laboratory settings and actively engage in service activities that support the Department, School, and University.
Responsibilities and Duties- Teach, and as appropriate develop, undergraduate courses in the Biological and Biomedical Sciences department
- Deliver instruction in both lecture and laboratory formats across a range of biological and biomedical sciences courses
- Implement innovative teaching methods that incorporate technology to enhance student learning and engagement in both lecture and laboratory settings
- Contribute to the advancement of biological and biomedical sciences at Bryant through building community partnerships and enhancing experiential learning opportunities
- Mentor and advise students on academic and career pathways in biological and biomedical sciences
- Develop and/or teach capstone courses in the general education program
- Assist with development of new undergraduate programs in SHBS
- Supervise and mentor students in laboratory courses and independent study projects
Maintain laboratory safety standards and ensure proper laboratory management - Participate in service at the departmental, college, and university levels
- Demonstrate a commitment toward building an equitable and inclusive scholarly environment
