Behavior Technician/RBT, Mental Health
Always Family First Autism Services is looking for people who, just like us, are interested in improving the quality of life of autistic children and their families with compassion, understanding, and empathy.
Behavior assistant services are direct activities related to the delivery of behavior analysis services and are designated in and required by a behavior analysis service plan. This position is the face of the organization and individuals in this role have a daily impact on improving the quality of life for autistic individuals and their families as they provide 1:1 direct behavior analysis services in home and community settings.
Behavior assistants carry out treatment as designed by the supervising behavior analyst which includes facilitating environmental arrangements, using proactive strategies, teaching and developing new skills, managing specific consequences for behavior based on function, implementation of behavioral procedures for the acquisition of replacement skills, and reduction of problematic behaviors, monitoring/collection/display (e.g. graphs) of behavior analysis services outcomes, assisting the behavior analyst in the training of caregivers and/or staff, and coordination with behavior analyst on the efficacy of treatment and collaboration on areas of needed support for the autistic child and their families.
Behavior assistants will receive on-the-job training for Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification before providing services. This involves 40-hour training on applied behavior analysis, competency assessment applying the concepts learned in the 40-hour training, and examination scheduled by the BACB.
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification is a paraprofessional certification in behavior analysis.
