As the business continues to grow, they are seeking a Transport Shift Supervisor to join their dynamic team, supporting the day-to-day running of the transport operation across multiple shifts.

Job Description

Reporting into the Transport Manager, the Transport Shift Supervisor will play a key role in ensuring the smooth, compliant, and efficient running of the transport operation. You will be responsible for leading a team of drivers and transport staff to deliver exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, motivate, and manage drivers and transport coordinators on shift.
• Plan and allocate routes efficiently to meet customer delivery schedules.
• Ensure full compliance with Drivers' Hours, Working Time Directive, and Road Transport regulations.
• Monitor vehicle performance, maintenance, and utilisation.
• Work closely with the warehouse and customer service teams to maintain service levels.
• Manage shift handovers, reporting, and performance KPIs.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.
• Handle any transport-related incidents or issues swiftly and effectively.

The Successful Applicant

The ideal Transport Shift Supervisor candidate will have a strong transport operations background within a 3PL, haulage, or distribution environment, along with a proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced setting.

You will have:

• Previous experience as a Transport Shift Supervisor / Transport Team Leader / Transport Controller.
• Strong working knowledge of transport legislation and compliance.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and make sound operational decisions.
• Flexibility to work a rotating shift pattern (including weekends).
