Transport Planner - Night Shifts (Position Overview)

Our clients are an ambitious and fast-growing Freight business with big-firm goals while proudly maintaining small-firm with family-focused values. Following continued expansion and a move to a much larger premises, they are now seeking a Transport Planner - Night shift to join their Operations team.

Working a four-on/four-off pattern (7pm - 7am), you will play a vital role as the link between the day and night operations. This is a crossover shift, where you will take ownership of the nightly plan while also supporting the planning of the following day's activities. You will ensure smooth execution throughout the shift, managing any challenges that arise, and handing over a clear, detailed brief to the incoming Day Shift Supervisor.

Every shift presents new challenges, requiring quick thinking, strong communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys problem-solving to keep operations running smoothly.

• Solid understanding of the transport industry and driver legislation
• Strong geographical knowledge of both the UK and Continental Europe
• Background knowledge of multiple freight modes, particularly airfreight
• Good IT proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office
• Understanding of EU → UK customs procedures and ETSF management

• Shift Pattern:
  Four-on/four-off, 7pm-7am
• Salary: £38,500 - £40,000 (DOE) with realistic earning potential of £44,000+ through overtime, holiday cover and additional shifts
