Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for a Project Officer to support the delivery of high-profile transformation projects within Children’s Services. This locum opportunity is ideal for candidates with experience in project coordination or delivery within local government, children’s services, or wider public sector transformation.

You will play a central role in supporting programmes aligned to the national Children’s Social Care Reforms, contributing to meaningful service improvement and better outcomes for children and families.

This role offers direct exposure to nationally significant reform programmes, close working with senior leaders, and collaboration with a wide range of multi-agency partners and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Support the planning, coordination, and delivery of projects linked to Children’s Social Care Reform initiatives
  • Assist in the development of business cases, project plans, and supporting documentation
  • Track project milestones, risks, and dependencies, providing regular progress updates to senior leaders
  • Contribute to statutory returns, performance reporting, and inspection readiness activity
  • Undertake research into best practice, benchmarking, and feasibility studies to inform service improvement
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships across internal teams and partner organisations
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Proven experience in a project support or project officer role, ideally within children’s services, local government, or public sector programmes
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines
  • Confident working with data, reports, and business case documentation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to engage professionally with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders and external partners
