We are seeking a skilled Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention to join Slough Children First, supporting children, young people, and families at the first point of contact with children’s social care.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake statutory assessments of children’s needs, risks, and circumstances

• Produce outcome-based plans reflecting the needs and risks to children and families

• Work directly with children, young people, and families to improve outcomes

• Assess and analyse risk using a strengths-based, evidence-informed approach

• Collaborate with internal teams and external agencies to deliver coordinated support

• Prepare accurate professional reports and maintain up-to-date case records

• Participate in multi-agency meetings and case conferences

• Ensure clear case transfer and step-down plans when cases move to other services

Requirements

• Recognised professional social work qualification and registration with Social Work England

• Demonstrable experience as a Social Worker – Assessment & Intervention, including statutory assessments and interventions

• Ability to work in a relationship-based, child-centred, multi-agency context

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
