We have an exciting opportunity to join our Bank Staff as an Experienced Health Care Assistant at Frimley NHS Health Foundation Trust (FHFT) to work flexibly across our clinical directorates in both Frimley and Wexham Park Hospitals. You will be working in a healthcare setting in the UK.
We are looking for compassionate, caring healthcare workers who strive to deliver high quality care to patients. This is a front-facing clinical role with a high level of spoken and written English required. You must currently be in the UK and have at least 6 months of current experience working in a UK healthcare setting as an HCA. Experience in an acute setting would be an advantage.

Main duties of the job- As a Health Care Assistant, you will work under direct or indirect supervision of a registered nurse/Nursing Associate. You will primarily assist the nursing team with patient care and contribute to the smooth running of the department.
- You will support clinically registrant colleagues and act in the best interest of patients, treating everyone with respect and dignity while delivering clinical care.
- You will be driven to deliver high quality care with attention to detail.

DetailedJob Description And Main Responsibilities
- To undertake agreed clinical activities including collection of samples, recording of fluid intake/output, catheter care, and monitoring vital signs.
- To perform National Early Warning Score (NEWS2) scoring and advise the registrant nurse of any changes in a patient’s condition.
- To care for enhanced care observation patients (1:1) or bay-based observation as required.
- To assist professionals in implementing plans of care for individual patients.
- To assist patients with eating and drinking, including menu selection and awareness of special diets and cultural requirements.
- To enable and assist patients to maintain their personal hygiene.
- To contribute to the safe movement of patients using equipment and mobility assessments to ensure patient comfort.

Person specification Qualifications- Evidence of general education (e.g., GCSEs or equivalent)
- Functional Skills Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy
- Care Certificate
- Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital or registered care setting
- Experience of taking clinical observations
- Customer care experience
- Experience of working in the UK acute sector
- Understands the role and remit of unregistered workers
- Moderate IT skills
- Clear and accurate written and verbal communication; able to communicate respectfully verbally and in writing
- Proven ability to work within a team as well as on own initiative
- Venepuncture and cannulation
- Manual handling of patients, using lifting aids
