Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer

We are offering an initial temporary contract of 3–6 months with the possibility of extension to a permanent position for the right candidate. The salary is negotiable and will be based on experience.
PositionTemporary Accommodation Visiting Officer – SL1 2EJ
, Hybrid Working
- Conduct regular visits to temporary accommodation, including bed and breakfasts and nightly paid accommodation.
- Complete suitability assessments in line with legislation and council policy.
- Identify health and safety risks, overcrowding, disrepair, or poor management and raise concerns.
- Engage sensitively with households in temporary accommodation.
- Verify occupancy and household composition during visits.
- Knowledge of homelessness legislation – Housing Act 1996, Homelessness Reduction Act, and temporary accommodation suitability.
- Experience visiting properties and service users.
- Valid driving licence.
