Whatyou’llbedoing

Role Overview

Thesuccessfulcandidatewillreporttotheheadofglobalequitycompensationin

Switzerlandandsupporttheglobalequitycompensationmanagerinthe

UKwithalltaxmattersrelatedtoequityplans.

Wewillconsidercandidateswithsubstantialexperiencein equitycompensationtaxcomplianceobligationsglobally,includingwithholdingtaxandsocialsecurityrequirements,expatriate tax,knowledgeofcapitalgainsanddividendstax,andadeepunderstandingoftaxequalizationandtaxprotectionpolicies.

Theselectedcandidatewilljointhe Global Equity Compensation team ,comprisingsixmembers,andbepartof

Hitachi’sGlobal Total Rewards (GTR) functionthatincludesapproximately
30people.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managetaxcompliancemattersfordomesticemployeesandinternationalglobalmovers(assignees,permanent transfers,business travelers,andprojectworkers) acrossallcompaniesofthe

    Hitachi

    Groupthatwilloperateequityincentives,especiallyfortherestrictedstockunitsplan(RSU).
  • Upholdstrongcompliance,governance,andinternalcontrolstandards.
  • Developandupdatetaxpoliciesandprocedurestomeettaxcomplianceobligationsglobally.
  • Establishandmaintainthetaxpositionpaper,identify,andmaintainthecorrectwithholdingtaxandsocialsecuritypositionsfordomesticemployeesandglobalmovers.
  • Workwithexternaltaxadvisorstoidentifyandmanagewithholdingtaxrequirementchanges.
  • Actasadvisorandsubjectmatterexpertforequitycompensationincometax,social security,andfinanceandaccountingmatters.
  • Improvesystemfunctionalitiesandinterfacestomitigatetaxcomplianceriskexposure.
  • Createanddelivertaxtrainingandtax-relatedcommunicationstoequityplanparticipants.
  • Workwithtaxadvisors,HROperationsandpayrollsgloballytoprepareforanddelivertheannualsharefilingsinallimpactedcountries,including,butnotlimitedto,theUKsharefillings,Australiaannualsharefilings,China

    SAFE(includingtheplansregistrationwhereapplicable).
  • Workwiththeglobalequitycompensationmanagerandexternaltaxadvisorstomanagethe

    RSUgrantandvestingprocess,includingmonthlyleaversandtheregulargrantandvestingcycles.
  • Workwithtaxadvisors,global mobility,andpayrolltoprepareforanddeliverthe

    RSUvestingcycleandtaxreturnseasonforglobalmovers.
  • Overseethepayrolltaxfundingprocesswiththeglobalequitycompensationmanagerin Japan.
  • Preparetaxpositionsimulationsandtaxcostprojectionsforinternationalassigneesandpermanenttransfersaccordingtobusinessdemands.
  • Supportcorporationtaxreviewsandrechargeagreementswith Japan Taxand Finance .
  • Respondtointernalandexternaltaxauditsuponrequest.
  • Correspondwiththelocaltaxauthoritiesinvariouscountriestoclarifytechnicaltaxmattersifrequired.
  • Manageemergingtaxtechnicaltopicswithinternalandexternalstakeholders,includingtheimplementationofcountry-specificequityplanswithtaxadvantagesifapplicable.
  • Definethescopeandtimelinestodeliversignificantprojects.
  • Managetherelationshipwithexternaltaxadvisorsandgroupcompanypayrolls.
  • Comprehensiveknowledgeofshareplanpoliciesandpractices.
Project work:

Workwillinclude,butisnotlimitedto,identifyingandestablishingthetaxcomplianceframeworkandoperationalrequirementsforseveralequitycompensationworkstreams,suchasglobalmobilitypolicydesign,communication materials,anddomesticandexpatriatetaxationmatters.

Theincumbentmayalsosupportthewiderglobalmobilitytransformationprojectimpactingallgroupcompanies.
