We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Procurement Director for Global Capital Expenditure (Capex) and Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO). This strategic leadership role will be responsible for managing a global spend of approximately ~£440 million for the Reckitt factories located in 5 continents. The role will involve leading a global team of buyers, collaborating closely with global engineering teams and R&D, and ensuring effective alignment with local manufacturing operations to meet business objectives.

The Procurement Director – Global Capex, MRO and R&D will be responsible for driving strategic sourcing and procurement activities for:

• Capex
• MRO
• R&D: outsourced testing, Lab equipment, Lab consumables globally and clinical trials

1. Strategic Leadership and Category Management:

• Define and execute the global procurement strategy for Capex, MRO and R&D to expand the spend coverage, drive cost-effective and timely project execution, and improve efficiency across the organization.
• Lead and develop a team of procurement professionals, providing guidance and support to drive performance and operational excellence.
• Manage the overall ~£440 million global spend, establishing clear priorities, and ensuring alignment with business goals and financial objectives.

2. Supplier Management and Negotiation:

• Drive supplier selection and relationship management to ensure high-quality, cost-effective considering TCO, and reliable sources for Capex, MRO and R&D..
• Strengthen and develop partnerships with strategic suppliers.
• Lead complex negotiations, managing supplier contracts, framework agreements and pricing models, to ensure favourable terms and conditions.
• Continuously evaluate and benchmark suppliers to ensure competitiveness, performance, and compliance with global standards.

3. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

• Ensure alignment between engineering, manufacturing, R&D and procurement strategies:
• Work closely with global engineering and R&D teams to understand Capex project requirements, timelines, and specifications.
• Collaborate with local manufacturing teams to ensure procurement solutions support operational needs and local business requirements.
• Build strong relationships with key internal stakeholders, including engineering, manufacturing, R&D, finance, and senior leadership teams.
• Provide expert advice and guidance on procurement strategies and support in decision-making processes related to Capex, MRO and R&D.
• Monitor market trends and emerging technologies to proactively adjust procurement strategies.
• Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies, ensuring supply chain continuity and minimizing operational disruptions.
