Location: Slough
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, Long-term

Academics Ltd is currently recruiting for a dedicated 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant to support a pupil in a welcoming primary school in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a genuine difference in a child's education and wellbeing.

The Role:
As a 1:1 SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with a pupil who requires additional emotional and behavioural support throughout the school day. You will play a key role in helping the child engage with learning, develop positive coping strategies, and feel safe and supported within the classroom environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEMH needs
  • Support emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies
  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO and pastoral team
  • Help adapt learning activities to meet the pupil's individual needs
  • Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Experience working with children with SEMH, behavioural needs or SEN (school, youth work, care or similar settings)
  • A calm, patient and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable pupils
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service

This role is ideal for aspiring Educational Psychologists, SEN teachers, counsellors or therapists, or anyone passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
