United Trades of America is hiring Journeyman Plumbers and Apprentice Plumbers for an immediate start on a commercial construction project in Slidell, Louisiana. We're looking for skilled tradespeople who are reliable, hardworking, and ready to get to work right away.

This position is open to local candidates only. There is no per diem, so please only apply if you live within commuting distance of Slidell, LA.

Position Details:

• Job Title: Journeyman Plumber / Apprentice Plumber

• Location: Slidell, LA

• Start Date: ASAP

• Pay Rates:

  • Journeyman: $25 - $28/hour, based on experience

  • Apprentice: $20 - $25/hour, based on experience

• Per Diem: Not available - local applicants only

• Job Type: commercial construction

Job Description:

This role involves a wide range of commercial plumbing duties. Journeyman plumbers must be capable of working independently from blueprints and overseeing quality installations with minimal supervision. Apprentices will assist with pipe installations, material prep, and general support while learning alongside experienced tradesmen.

Typical responsibilities include:

• Installing water supply, drainage, and vent systems

• Measuring, cutting, threading, and assembling pipe

• Working with PVC, copper, cast iron, and PEX

• Reading and interpreting job specs and plumbing drawings

• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

• Coordinating tasks with supervisors and other trades on site

Requirements:

• Journeyman applicants must have proven experience with commercial plumbing and the ability to work independently from prints

• Apprentice candidates should have at least one year of experience in plumbing or a construction-related trade

• Must have basic hand tools and PPE

• Must have reliable transportation

• Must be able to pass a drug screen

• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred, but not required
