This job acts as a leader in the provision of patient care using the nursing process within the framework of the Nurse Practice Act, ANA Code for Nurses, and Scope & Standards of Practice. You will effectively delegate, direct, and assist licensed and ancillary team members; assume accountability for quality patient outcomes; exhibit sensitivity to cultural, ethnic and religious diversity in all interactions;
maintain involvement in activities aimed toward the achievement of unit and the department’s strategic goals and objectives; and demonstrate professional responsibility and accountability for your own practice while supporting the company's philosophy of nursing.

EducationRequired:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Required:
None.
Required:
Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice;
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Preferred:
Certification in Clinical Specialty Area.
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effectively use the nursing process in the delivery of patient care.
- Assess learning needs and implement teaching strategies appropriate for the diverse needs of the patient, family and other groups or disciplines.
- Communicate, delegate, and manage nursing team resources (human and fiscal) properly and serve as a leader and partner on the interdisciplinary team.
- Use data, information, and knowledge to evaluate and promote change in order to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Embrace concepts and behaviors that enhance customer satisfaction, employee morale, and improvement in the profession of nursing.
- Adapt behavior to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, adapting explanations of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions, and tailoring communication style.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Remains knowledgeable on current federal, state and local laws, accreditation standards or regulatory agency requirements that apply to the assigned area of responsibility and ensures compliance with all such laws, regulations and standards.

Physical and Environmental DemandsHeavy Work:
Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Duties performed routinely require exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue. The incumbent works within a healthcare setting and may be exposed to hazardous medications or waste.
