Patient Dining Associate Dietary Aide

We are hiring immediately for a full-time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE DIETARY AIDE position.

Ochsner Slidell East - 100 Medical Center Drive, Slidell, LA 70461.

Full-time; open availability preferred. Hours and days may vary; details upon interview.

Pay: $13.00 per hour. No experience is necessary; training will be provided.

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, providing services such as helping patients make menu selections, assembling, delivering, and picking up meal trays. You are part of the caregiving team and contribute to patient safety and satisfaction by ensuring meals are accurate and delivered at the right time and temperature.

• Help patients understand their menu selections and coordinate with nursing to ensure orders meet nutritional requirements or restrictions.
• Collaborate with caregivers and culinary team to determine menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, or cultural, ethnic, or religious preferences.
• Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection; retrieve trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
• Comply with regulatory standards (federal, state, JCAHO). Adhere to HIPAA policies and patient rights.
• Follow HACCP guidelines when handling food, cleaning work stations, and breaking down the tray line.
• Follow facility and department infection control policies and procedures.
• Assist dietitians with patients who require non-oral diets or specific calorie counts.
• Communicate problems or concerns with patients to the appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in Morrison Healthcare policies and procedures.
• Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English.
• Basic computer and mathematical skills.
• Must be able to occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver/push food delivery carts.
