* What you will do:

** Refills routine prescription requests following designated prescription refill protocols from Inbasket messages in appropriate clinical pools.  Practicing good phone etiquette and customer relations, collects and documents patient data and history as needed to safely refill medications  Reviews and updates patient records with current information relevant to medication refills. Confers with physicians on any incomplete refill requests and seeks clarification prior to completing refill requests.  

Obtain appropriate authorization from a patient’s insurance for medications when needed and completes in a timely fashion  Assists patients with appointment scheduling when required for medication refills per protocol.  Remains alert to potential quality problems and actively participates in process improvement opportunities.  Adheres to all Northwest Community Hospital standards, policies, and procedures.

* What you will need:

** 1 Year

Experience with an EMR preferred.  Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to document legibly.  Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients, team members, and physicians and to maintain team-oriented relationships with senior management, managers and staff.  Ability to work efficiently and seek guidance when unclear of assigned tasks. Able to exercise attention to details and display proper judgment related to assigned tasks.  

Ability to maintain high customer service standards.  Proficient computer skills and the ability to learn and effectively utilize department specific software systems.  Ability to effectively perform or learn technical skills to perform essential functions within allocated time frame.  Ability to work a flexible schedule as part of a team.  Ability and willingness to float between multiple Physician Office locations when needed.
