Job Summary

As the Data Analytics Analyst II at Endeavor Health, you will provide analytical support to the Research Institute (RI). You will gather, analyze, and report on various data types, communicating results to research teams, corporate and divisional management. The role serves as the key subject‑matter expert on Endeavor’s data and reporting systems—including Epic, Data Warehouse, Vizient, Power

BI, and other tools. You will also collaborate with the nine Clinical Research Units (CRU) and serve all research analytics needs.

What You Will Do
  • Participate in analytics‑based improvement projects using EMR data to measure patient outcomes.
  • Gather business requirements through meetings with primary research investigators.
  • Produce valuable insights from data to support evidence‑based decision making.
  • Design and develop reports, dashboards, and data insights using analytics software and programming languages.
  • Collaborate with RI scientists and clinicians to analyze data for patient‑centered interventions, external funding acquisition, clinical trial support, and publication contributions.
  • Assist in drafting and refining research manuscripts, ensuring accurate representation of analysis methods and findings.
  • Co‑coach newer researchers on study design and best practices.
  • Perform data preprocessing, cleaning, and transformation tasks to prepare datasets for analysis.
  • Partner with the data science team for in‑depth data analysis, ensuring integrity, accuracy, and consistency of research data.
  • Act as a data steward, enforcing data security and privacy guidelines when sharing data with research teams.
  • Maintain large datasets, ensuring proper storage, organization, and accessibility for all research team members.
  • Work with data warehouse experts to design and develop data engineering requirements in the Enterprise Data Warehouse.
  • Utilize data analysis techniques to assess data quality, identify patterns, trends, and anomalies, and generate insights to improve reliability.
  • Ensure all developed solutions meet performance thresholds.
  • Stay updated on the latest healthcare technologies and promote adoption of relevant tools through industry engagement.
  • Contribute to a high‑performing analytics team that values collaboration and impact across the organization.
What You Will Need
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, Basic Science, or equivalent experience. Master’s or terminal degree preferred.
  • Certification:
    Not required on hire; training opportunities to obtain Epic certifications.
  • Experience:

    Five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Exposure to electronic health records (EHR) – Epic ideal.
  • Knowledge of healthcare industry or information systems.
  • Statistical or mathematical skills; experience with Python, SPSS, SAS, R, or similar.
  • Prior work experience in research.
  • Prior exposure to OBGYN/Women’s Health research projects.
  • Epic data analytics certifications (Cogito, Clarity, Caboodle, Healthy Planet, Clinical Data) considered a plus.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and problem‑solving skills.
  • 4‑year college degree in information systems, computer science, mathematics, finance, statistics, or related field.
  • Proficiency in writing complex database queries using SQL or related languages.
  • Understanding of analytics databases, warehouses, and data lakes (e.g., Oracle, MS‑SQL Server, Hadoop, Spark).
  • Experience with visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, Qlik View, etc.).
  • Skill in process/performance improvement methodologies (IHI, Lean, Six Sigma).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
